Sexual Health in Practice (SHIP)
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are often overlooked, yet understanding how they occur, how to prevent them, the tests involved and the treatments available is key to maintaining good sexual health.
Andrew Place Clinic is proud to partner with Melbourne Sexual Health Centre to deliver a specialised sexual health service at our clinics. This initiative - known as Sexual Health In Practice (SHIP) - is supported by the Victorian Government to improve access to quality sexual health care across Victoria.

- Routine STI check-ups for people without symptoms
- STI testing and treatment for people with symptoms
- Onsite treatment for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and genital warts
- PEP and PrEP for HIV prevention
- Monkeypox vaccination
- Onsite pathology at both clinic locations for convenience

Booking Appointments
Existing patients
Book online via the AutoMed (AMSConnect) app by selecting “SHIP Appointments” or call our Reception team on 03 9467 1444 or 03 9466 7211.
New patients
Please phone the practice on 03 9467 1444 or 03 9466 7211 and request an initial “SHIP Appointment.” This allows us to collect all relevant information at your first visit. Follow-up appointments can then be booked online.
Fees and Billing
Our doctors privately bill, and all appointments incur an out-of-pocket fee payable on the day. Reduced fees are available for patients holding a valid Centrelink Concession Card. All billing is at the discretion of your doctor.

Concession Initial/New Patient SHIP Consultation
(Nurse assessment + 30 min GP consult)
Fee: $152.00

Out-of-pocket cost: $67.10

Billed at the discretion of the doctor, depending on appointment length and complexity.
What to Expect at Your First Appointment
All new patients will see one of our practice nurses for an initial assessment, followed by an appointment with a GP. New patient appointments are usually 45 minutes to allow enough time for a full assessment.
Please complete your New Patient Registration form prior to your appointment or arrive five minutes early to complete it on site. If your matter is urgent, advise Reception at the time of booking so you can be triaged promptly by a nurse.
