Dr Melanie Hemsley

Dr Melanie Hemsley is an experienced GP with a special interest in all aspects of women’s health. She is passionate about supporting women through every stage of life, from puberty and menstrual health, contraception and fertility planning, to pregnancy, motherhood, perimenopause, and menopause.

Melanie provides pregnancy shared care for women attending the Mercy Hospital for Women, Northern Health, and the Royal Women’s Hospital. She has expertise in all forms of contraception, including the insertion of IUDs and Implanon devices. She also works one day each week at Jean Hailes Clinic for Women’s Health, caring for women with complex menopause and perimenopause concerns.

Having studied psychology before medicine and completed training in Focused Psychological Strategies, Melanie enjoys taking a holistic approach to healthcare and values building long-term relationships with her patients.

As clinic owner, Melanie is proud to lead a team committed to providing high-quality, compassionate, patient-centred care.

Outside of work, Melanie is a busy mum to two teenagers and can often be found on the sidelines of sporting events, driving between activities, or enjoying time with family and friends.

Please note: Dr Hemsley privately bills all consultations and does not offer bulk billing. A concession fee is available for children under 12 years of age.
