APC Results Policy

It is important that all results are followed up promptly to ensure timely review and continuity of patient care.

If your Doctor marks your results as "Non-Urgent appointment", you will receive a message alert and will be required to make a follow up appointment, which can be either in clinic or via Telehealth (Phone).

Patient with nurse

Follow-up of No Action results is managed by the nursing team, who monitor incoming results, escalate any abnormal or urgent findings to the treating clinician, and coordinate any required patient communication or further management. This process helps ensure that significant results are not overlooked and that patients receive appropriate care in a timely manner.

Patients can access results via speaking with the nurse Monday-Friday between 1pm-2pm.

If the Nurse is on another call; reception will take your details and have the Nurse call you back at their earliest convenience.

Reception staff do not have access to patient results. Nurses are trained to handle a wide variety of tasks within their scope of practice, which includes certain aspects of patient education and communication. Delegating the communication of results to nurses optimises the delivery process and minimises any clinical risks between patients and the Administration team.
