Dr Ruyan (Ru) Chen

I grew up in New Zealand and completed my medical degree at the University of Auckland. Since then, I have worked at various metropolitan and regional hospitals across Victoria, NSW and South Australia. I now call Melbourne home and enjoy providing care that is kind, supportive and tailored to each individual.

Special interests:
Skin medicine, women’s and sexual health, chronic disease management, weight management and minor procedures including Implanon insertion and ear syringing.

I also have a particular interest in skin cancer medicine and dermoscopy. I have completed additional training in dermoscopy and skin cancer assessment and have experience performing skin procedures including biopsies and excisions. I take a thorough and practical approach to skin checks, with a focus on early detection and personalised management.

In my spare time I like trying new sports, music and dancing, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. I love cooking and hosting whenever I get the chance.
