Children’s Health
At Andrew Place Clinic, we are committed to providing gentle, comprehensive, and family-centred care for children of all ages—from newborns through to teenagers. As an accredited teaching practice with decades of experience in the local community, we understand the importance of supporting families through every stage of a child’s growth and development.
We know that every child is unique. Our doctors take the time to listen to parents and children, provide clear guidance, and work together with families to make healthcare visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
What We Can Help With
Our GPs offer a full range of paediatric care, including:
- Newborn and infant checks: Monitoring early growth, feeding, sleeping patterns, and general wellbeing in the first months of life.
- Feeding and sleep support: Guidance for parents navigating breastfeeding, formula feeding, introducing solids, fussy eating, and healthy nutrition habits.
We also provide support for newborn and infant sleep concerns, settling strategies, sleep regressions, and creating age-appropriate routines. Our aim is to help families feel confident and supported during these formative years. We work closely with our local Maternal Child Health Service and can provide referrals as needed to other services. - Childhood immunisations: Providing all recommended vaccinations according to the National Immunisation Program, along with clear guidance and support for parents. Additionally, we can provide support and advise for those wishing to travel or provide immunisations in addition to the National Immunisation Program.
- Growth and development assessments: Routine checks to ensure your child is meeting developmental milestones and thriving physically, socially, and emotionally.
- Common childhood illnesses: Care for fevers, ear infections, coughs, rashes, asthma, allergies, tummy issues, and other day-to-day health concerns.
- Behavioural and learning concerns: Support for issues such as attention difficulties, school challenges, anxiety, and behavioural changes, with referrals to specialists when needed.
- Skin and allergy management: Assessment and management of eczema, hay fever, food allergies, and other common conditions in childhood.
- Adolescent health: Confidential, age-appropriate care for teenagers, including mental health support, acne treatment, sports injuries, menstrual concerns, and sexual health education.
Whether your child is due for a routine check, is feeling unwell, or you’re seeking guidance about their development, we’re here to support your family.
