Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STI) are commonly overlooked and understanding what these conditions are, how to avoid them, what tests are involved and how they are treated is the best way to stay STI free.
Andrew Place Clinic is proud to be in partnership with Melbourne Sexual Health Centre to incorporate a specialised sexual health service at our clinics. This initiative, known as SHIP (Sexual Health In Practice) is part of the endeavours by the Victorian Government to increase access to quality sexual health services across Victoria.

Booking Appointments
Existing Patients- Existing patients are encouraged to book online via HotDoc by selecting ‘SHIP Appointments’ or by contacting our Reception team on 03 9467 1444 or 03 9466 7211.
New Patients- We ask that new patients phone the practice on 03 9467 1444 or 03 9466 7211 and ask for an initial ‘SHIP Appointment’. This ensures we receive all relevant information at first contact and then subsequent review appointments can be booked online.
Fees and Billing
The doctors choose to privately bill and all appointments incur an out-of-pocket fee, payable on the day. If you hold a valid Centrelink Concession card, the doctors do offer reduced out of pocket costs for Concession card holders. All fees and billing are at the discretion of your doctor.
Standard- Initial/New Patient SHIP Consultation Fee (Nurse Assessment + 30min GP consult) $190.00
Medicare Rebate $82.90
Actual cost to patient $107.10
(If your appointment is less than 20minutes, your out-of-pocket cost will be approximately $52)
Concession- Initial/New Patient SHIP Consultation Fee (Nurse Assessment + 30min GP consult) $140.00
Medicare Rebate $82.90
Actual cost to patient $57.10
(If your appointment is less than 20minutes, your out-of-pocket cost will be approximately $27)
Review SHIP Consultation Fee - Review appointments will be billed at the discretion of the doctor, depending on complexity and length of appointment.
What to expect on your first appointment
All new patients will see one of our practice nurses for a New Patient assessment followed by an appointment with the doctor.
If you are new to the clinic your initial appointment will be a 45min appointment which will include the nurse assessment also.
Please ensure you have completed your New Patient Registration form prior to your appointment otherwise please arrive 5 mins earlier.
If you feel the matter is urgent, please advise Reception at the time of booking and you will be triaged by a practice nurse.

- STI testing and treatment for people who do have symptoms
- Onsite treatment for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and genital warts
- PEP and PrEP for HIV prevention
